Royal Caribbean has announced its plans for a new destination named “Perfect Day Mexico” at the Mahahual port, set to open in fall 2027. This ambitious venture comes on the heels of Royal Caribbean’s acquisition of the port property last year. It will function as a private beach club for cruise passengers traveling on Western Caribbean itineraries.

The development promises an exciting array of features, highlighted by what is described as the tallest waterslide tower in North and South America, towering over 170 feet and featuring 10 record-breaking slides. A particular attraction includes the world’s first sombrero-shaped bowl slide.

Royal Caribbean plans to add over 30 waterslides across five slide towers in the “Loco Waterpark,” tailored for thrill-seekers. Additional features include the world’s longest lazy river and multiple relaxation areas with amenities such as adults-only sections equipped with swim-up bars. There’s also a massive 100,000-square-foot central pool, one out of the ten pools slated for development.

According to Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean, “Perfect Day Mexico is bigger and bolder than anything we have done to date.” The destination will blend Mexican cultural elements throughout its design and experiences.

The beach club will accommodate ships sailing from Galveston, New Orleans, and all Florida homeports on Western Caribbean itineraries. This development marks another step in Royal Caribbean’s continued expansion of private destination offerings for its cruise passengers visiting Mexico’s Caribbean coast.
