Los Cabos has recently seen three more of its restaurants earn recognition in the 2025 Michelin Guide, increasing the destination’s recognized establishments to a total of 16. The newly honored establishments are Mezcal at Montage Los Cabos, Al Pairo at Solaz, and Límo Heritage Kitchen at Suelo Sur. These restaurants join the prestigious list during the second year of Michelin’s presence in Mexico.

Montage and Solaz both opened their doors in 2018, with Límo Heritage Kitchen offering a specialty in farm-to-table cuisine located in downtown San José del Cabo. Despite these new entrants, Cocina de Autor Los Cabos at the Grand Velas Los Cabos resort remains the only restaurant in the region with a coveted Michelin star.

The nearby Todos Santos held its recognition for four restaurants, and El Pescadero continues to have one. The Michelin Guide evaluates various restaurant categories beyond stars, which include:

  • Green Star for sustainable gastronomy
  • Bib Gourmand for quality at affordable prices
  • Recommended for establishments considered well above average

Acre and Flora’s Field Kitchen in San José del Cabo received Green Star recognition, emphasizing their commitment to sustainable practices.

Overall, Mexico’s representation in the guide rose from 157 restaurants in 2024 to 181 in 2025. Notably, only six areas are currently evaluated: Mexico City, Baja California, Baja California Sur, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, and Quintana Roo.

Decision and Future Prospects

Rodrigo Esponda, Director General of the Los Cabos Tourism Board, noted that the destination had only two weeks in 2023 to decide whether to participate in the initial Michelin evaluations. As of now, no new regions are slated for inclusion until at least 2026.
