Baja California Celebrates Tijuana’s Margarita Record and Upcoming Wine Festival

Tijuana has reclaimed the Guinness World Record for the largest margarita, reconnecting the cocktail with its historical roots in the city. Local volunteers mixed a massive 34,419-liter margarita, surpassing Las Vegas’s previous 32,176-liter record. The beverage was displayed in an 8-meter high steel tank and included Cachanilla tequila, Triple Sec, lime juice, and Felipe’s Sea Salt. These ingredients were combined in proportions matching a standard margarita.

Baja California’s Fiestas de la Vendimia

Baja California is gearing up for its 35th Fiestas de la Vendimia, happening from July 30 to August 24. This festival will highlight the state’s expanding wine industry, featuring:

  • More than 80 wineries
  • 160 labels

The Concurso de Paellas on August 17 at Viña de Liceaga is a major attraction, where you’ll find a paella cooking competition with wine pairings. Tickets for the festival are now on sale, presenting a fantastic chance to immerse yourself in the region’s culinary and wine heritage.
