Irish carrier Aer Lingus will introduce direct flights from Dublin to Cancun beginning January 6, 2026, offering travelers a convenient new option to reach Mexico’s Caribbean coast during winter months.

The service, which will operate three times weekly until April 29, 2026, will utilize the airline’s A330-300 aircraft. This new route marks Aer Lingus’ first direct connection to Cancun and expands their winter sun offerings for Irish travelers seeking to escape cold European winters.

The timing of this new service coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ireland and Mexico, highlighting growing ties between the two nations. Mexico currently stands as Ireland’s top trading partner in Latin America, while Ireland ranks as Mexico’s sixth-largest trading partner within the European Union.

Beyond providing direct access to Cancun’s beaches, the flights will connect travelers to the region’s archaeological sites including El Rey, Ichkabal, Coba, Tulum, and Chichén Itzá. The route will also facilitate connections for passengers from across Europe and the UK who can transfer through Dublin to reach Cancun.

The Dublin-Cancun service addresses increasing consumer demand for winter destinations that combine warm weather with cultural experiences. The flights are scheduled to begin serving travelers in January 2026, creating a new direct link between Ireland and Mexico’s popular Caribbean tourism hub.
